PD Thursday Webinar to Address COVID Learning Loss and Student Performance
February 3rd 2021
Renaissance, a valuable INPEA business partner, has graciously coordinated one of our February PD Thursday webinars, “Student Performance: Turning COVID Learning Gaps into Growth.” We’ll host this on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at 4:00 PM EST / 3:00 PM CST.
As the second half of the academic year begins, how can educators in Indiana’s non-public schools address the impact of COVID-19 on student achievement? Join this webinar to discover how the pandemic has affected students’ reading and math performance at each grade level.
Drs. Julie Vogel and Gene Kerns will share key findings from Renaissance’s Student Performance report, the first national and largest study to date on the academic impacts of COVID-19-related disruptions. Specific topics will include the following:
1. Research findings about the grades and content areas most impacted
2. A comparison of the impact on achievement in private/Catholic schools vs. public schools nationally and on Indiana specifically
3. Insights on how to design lessons that accelerate learning and optimally address gaps created by the pandemic.
4. A free resource teachers can use to identify the most essential reading and math skills related for ultimate progress with the Indiana standards.
